RATION DISTRIBUTION IN PANDEMIC TO SOME INDIGENT AND DEPRIVED FAMILIES OF “MANI KHELA’’ IN KHYBER PAKHTUNKHWA, PAKISTAN

Pakistan, a nation grappling with poverty and coronavirus challenges. With approximately 185 million citizens, Pakistan ranks 147th out of 188 countries in the Human Development Index (HDI). According to the UNICEF and Save the Children, the economic fallout of the COVID-19 could push millions of children into household poverty, by the end of 2020.In such a gloomy and wistful state, “Shaheen International” has taken urgent actions to protect such families from the financial hardships.
On August 29,2020, just two days before Eid-ul-Azha, the team of ‘’Shaheen International’’ went to Mani Khela, located between the districts of Charsadda and Mardan, in the province of KPK. A place where number of families were leading a life of poverty and deprivation. A region where humanity is striving hard to entice their empty bellies. The indigent souls with a sigh of hope in their eyes.
On that day, we covered 65 families and provided them with basic food and grocery items that could serve them for at least a month. The most difficult task was to identify the worthiest but thanks to the residents of the area who helped us a lot in figuring out the poverty-stricken. It was heart wrenching to see the humanity crippling but by the grace Of Almighty Allah, ‘’Shaheen International’’ worked hard to turn their tears into beautiful smiles.
It was an amazing experience. The expression of gratitude and happiness on their faces are far more precious than any jewel. Helping one person might not change the world, but it could change the life of a person. No doubt, It is impossible to help everyone, But it is possible for everyone to help someone. We hope that by the help of supporters and donors of ‘’Shaheen International’’, we will keep on spreading smiles.
